09/07/2010
Another 100 successful candidates have been chosen to join the programme for female entrepreneurs in China, jointly run by Saïd Business School, University of Oxford and the Global Entrepreneurship Research Centre, School of Management at Zhejiang University. The launch ceremony for this second cohort of scholars was held on 27 June, in Hangzhou China. The Programme is part of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women initiative. Each year, between 2009 and 2013, 100 underserved women entrepreneurs from Zhejiang Province, China are being given the opportunity to learn the business and management skills that will enable them both to be successful as women entrepreneurs and to contribute to their local communities. Already the women from the 2009 Programme are reporting a significant improvement in the profitability of their businesses as a result of being part of 10,000 Women.
To better support the scholars, the University of Oxford is organising group mentoring and workshops during their third module. We would like to invite you to join the Oxford mentoring day at the end of August when Eric Thun, Peter Moores Lecturer in Chinese Business Studies, will be teaching the scholars in Hangzhou.
