OXFORD BUSINESS ALUMNI REUNION WEEKEND
Friday 24 September – Sunday 26 September 2010
The Alumni Relations Office are delighted to welcome you to the OBA Reunion
Weekend in conjunction with the University of Oxford Alumni Weekend. In response
to alumni comments we have added other events around our traditional annual reunion
dinner. Alumni have suggested that for those travelling to Oxford for the reunion
dinner or the wider University
of Oxford Alumni Weekend, they would
enjoy a combination of formal and informal events.
To this end we launch our OBA
Reunion Weekend events at
The Turf where from 4.30pm onwards
on Friday 24 September you can meet up with friends as they begin to arrive in Oxford
for the weekend.
On Saturday you have the opportunity to take a seat in the Edmond
Safra Lecture Theatre again and listen to Alan Morrison, Director of the MFE Programme,
talk on
‘Investment Banking: Contract and Reputation’. It will
be just like old times but without the assignments and exam!
After this you have
time to revisit the city of Oxford, have coffee in the Common Room where refreshments
are provided as part of the University of Oxford Alumni Weekend facilities, go punting
or simply take a break before the black tie reunion dinner.
For the first time we
have arranged for the
reunion dinner to be held in college
rather than at the Saïd Business School. This year the dinner will be held at Wadham
College where Colin Mayer, Peter Moores Dean of the Saïd Business School, is a Fellow.
We are delighted to announce that
Nicky Oppenheimer, Chairman of the De Beers Group will be our guest speaker – an exciting departure from the usual schedule facilitated
by an alumnus.
‘But the night is still young..!’ If you have room for more after
dinner, you can move to All Bar One on The High for drinks. The Alumni Relations
Office will put money behind the bar to keep you in drinks before the night ends.
Sunday’s activities can be tailored to your preference: something competitive in
the fresh air with a game of rounders or a gentle round of croquet or boules at
the University Club. We will provide lunch and the bar is to hand
to supply drinks. You can sit and watch or join in before leaving Oxford for another
year.
We hope to see you in Oxford in September!
